The band began its musical quest on January 2nd, 2003 playing live gigs in hotels and lounge bars. It was essentially an acoustic blues band before it kicked off as a rock outfit. Lead singer Abhaya Subba is the founder member and manager of the band, while Rinchen Palzar who now plays the lead guitar joined the band in early 2004. Nabin Lama on the guitar was discovered by Abhaya while she was judging a reality show, The Sprite band challenge and he joined the band in 2008. Birat Shrestha on the bass joined the band mid 2009 and so did Ajit Tamang as the drummer. She formed the band in 2003 with younger musicians than her who seemed to be more accepting of her need to write songs and articulate her full potential as a musician. They have been nominated for several major music awards in Nepal and were awarded the honor of being the Number 1 band of Nepal by Radio Kantipur in 2009. They have performed extensively all over Nepal and are planning a US tour in the near future. They have been invited to major concerts in Hong Kong, Australia and India. Their best is yet to come. They are now in the process of recording their third album and are raring to push the benchmark and to make music a thinking, entertaining and steamy affair.

B. P. Valenzuela is a 19 year old electronic musician with analog sensibilities - aside from being a producer, she is a singer-songwriter first and foremost. She eschews laptops for intimacy, instead arming herself with electronic friends: drum machines, analog synthesizers, loop stations and samplers - having all of them subtly interweave into the sometimes quiet, sometimes dancy, organic and ambient elements that make it a unique experience live. Out of a whim in her freshman year, she began to start writing for herself, and was introduced to audiences and airwaves with her critically acclaimed self-produced debut EP: be/ep. With her debut full-length album, The Neon Hour's recent release - there is definitely more in store for the young producer/singer-songwriter. She has gained traction with the fancy, exuberant internet single "Pretty Car" and be/ep's single, the quiet and introspective "General Scheme of Things". Her songs touch on the grey area of heartbreak, where pain meets joy, where memories meet the present, amongst themes of alienation and her coming of age against the backdrop of meticulous, moody, and catchy electropop.
Music has always been a part of Bastian Baker’s life. Even as a young boy when music wasn’t at the centre of his preoccupations, he lent his voice to a school choir. Today, at only 23, he already sings on Switzerland and Europe’s biggest stages with the self-confidence of experienced performers. To find the first signs of his artistic destiny, a close look at his teen years must be taken; he had his own secret garden, accompanied by just a guitar and a pen. Discovered by Patrick Delarive, who decided to support him, the singer released a first single, “Lucky”, in 2011. In the meantime, the singer sharpens up his knives and impresses the crowds at other Swiss and French festivals.

Instead of being defined by one clear genre, they explore a blend of genres such as funk, folk and pop in their song-writing. Their music is fuss-free – they are inspired by what they love hearing and re-invent where the songs lead them, taking their audience on an emotional journey with an open destination.
They believe that music sounds different when it is played live; somehow, without you knowing, you are drawn to become part of the audience. And that’s how they like it. Simple, never taken too seriously, and always to be enjoyed!

As Dean says... “I’ve been called mysterious, intense, confusing, crazy and captivating. But at the end of the day, I’m just a guy with a guitar and a story to tell. Live and love...” Australian audiences became aware of Melbourne-based singer Dean Ray on April 4th during the auditions of X-Factor Australia. Dean had the crowd wildly cheering to his own rendition of ‘Bette Davis Eyes’ with Redfoo telling Dean to ‘check your passport, because you’re out of this world man.’ Dean grew up in tiny Meandarra, QLD with his father Chris, a contract stockman, and mother Angie, a stay-at-home mum. Dean says he was born into music. While heavily pregnant with Dean, Angie was playing bass in rock bands. In fact his parents were musicians on the country- music circuit, which lead to Dean travelling Australia with his parents. and sleeping in guitar cases while they packed up their gear to travel to the next beer soaked venue. 2014 was the year for Dean he says ‘Everything has just fallen into place.’ On October 20th Dean Ray was announced the runner up of the X-Factor 2014 series. With 13 songs in the top 200 on the ARIA Chart as well as already reaching #1, it’s only the beginning....

Imagine being programmed into a remote control of a bustling city. Sharp edges like a day old architectural masterpiece. You can suddenly hear the clockwork pounding with beats filled with melodies that tell you that it’s alright, it’s just progress. Soon you will be thinking of your loved ones, feelings that you probably have forgotten when not reminded. Feelings of love and hate. The expert that you are, you then try to venn it into a diagram in your head to decide how to feel. Should it be forgiveness or revenge? Then you come to realise the tone that has been ringing in your head and finally you say yes, “I remember this sound.” It is the sound of ELEKTONE, an android-genetic outfit that clashes electro indie swing and trance dance rhythms with live guitars, synths, ♺ samples & syncopated beats. The track “Dance On” on the album Everybody’s God (2010) already set the tone for their second album… A song title that sounded like an invitation, a slogan in the midst of a finely crafted debut album, combining pop with a touch of funk and uplifting melodies. Those who were lucky enough to see the whirlwind GUSH perform live (they started playing together in 2003) know full well what Yan, Vincent, Mathieu and Xavier are capable of.
GUSH followed a 2 year path to their next album Mira surrounding the release of Everybody’s God. A couple of key moments, such as their 2011 world tour (USA, South America, Japan), determined the the atmosphere that would define their new tracks. During the concert they gave in Austin, they realized that what they really wanted was to make the audience dance. Back to the basics, the band decided to go back to the synths in crushing pop funk style.
Formed out of Brisbane’s burgeoning indie scene in 2012, Hey Geronimo have developed into one of country’s most innovative purveyors of warped, indie-pop. Comprised of four genuine songwriters, the band's previous four singles all achieved Triple J rotation, even though they were written by different members. This fundamental diversity, along with a wide range of influences from The Beach Boys to Weezer, has seen the band manage to steer clear of an apparent “indie sound” and craft their own space in the local soundscape. After a pair of well received EPs, Hey Geronimo (2012) and Erring On The Side Of Awesome (2013), the band will release their debut LP in 2015. Having spent the last twelve months in and out of the studio with acclaimed producer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Little Birdy), Hey Geronimo has married retro licks with eccentric, bombastic production to create a record that has further developed their sound following the EP releases. This full-length release is set to build on Hey Geronimo’s substantial local and international attention, including major international syncs, festival appearances, over a million YouTube views, a coveted inclusion in triple j’s Next Crop 2012 list, and an entry in the US CMJ Radio Top 100 charts.
The friendship that we have made since childhood leads us to the same world, music. Started by having a desire to create a different atmosphere, we aside our activity in our previous band to start a side project called Hoolahoop. We started our journey by rearranging one of Rocket Rockers' songs, which was not included in their album Better Season, it is titled "Perjalanan Terindah". Because of this song, we received many positive responses from various media and we saw enthusiasm from local music listeners. That is the beginning when we started to make the side project to become a main project. Aska Pratama, a former member of Rocket Rockers, invited us to work together, He then produced our debut EP. On february 14th 2012, we released the ep which titled "Hari Untuk Berlari". It consists of 7 tracks plus 1 bonus track. In this album, we tried to present music with uplifting atmosphere. Stories about love and friendship became a major influence in making this album.

Since the summer of 2009, French band Manceau have been composing colorful and elegant pop music shaped with both simplicity and melodic ambition. But Despite being influenced by Britpop icons, their melodies have their own peculiarity. Their 2010’s On a Mellow Day EP, a small collection of sophisticated and happy folk songs was a clear example of this and so was Life Traffic Jam, their subtle synthpop debut album produced by Xavier Boyer and Pedro Resende (Tahiti 80) and released on their own imprint (Monophonics) two years later. In common with the authors of Puzzle is the search for the perfect arrangement in composing intelligent demanding music able to touch everyone.

After a research trip to Berlin and New York in 2012, Michelle Xen embarked on a project in musical experimentation. She would combine her artistic skillset, committedly backed by her visual artist/DJ training and love of deep bass sounds, in order to explore the idea of synaesthesia as an electronic pop artist. Her debut EP would then be the beginnings of a twelve month project in art-pop exploration, amalgamating colours, bass, textures, pop and iconography, later extending into a live performance component to include her full live band, Michelle Xen + The Neon Wild. This EP also saw the artist work closely with Quan Yeomans (Regurgitator) and Wally De Backer (The Basics, Gotye) in the studio on her emerging, electro-pop sounds. She has gone on to crowdfund an audio-visual EP, On For You. Based around the concept of building a world for a song and taking an extremely personal approach to songwriting, she pushes the art/music form, allowing for work that is both engaging and open to interpretation. From DIY music clips to bio-artistry, the intrinsic need to have a visual world attached to a song from the beginning becomes quite literal, especially when the Brisbane producer decides to harvest her own cells with bio-artist Svenja Kratz, for the music video My Cells; “Some of my songs have (literally) had a visual world attached to them from the very beginning.” Xen was most recently awarded a 2015 Queensland Music Award for Best Song in the Electronic/Dance category for her latest release: Short Term Plan.

From busking the streets of Melbourne with a rusty old saxophone, to fronting bands at Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival, Tommy Spender’s bio reads like a Hunter S Thompson novel, but with music replacing all of the hard drugs.
In the last 2 decades, he has immersed himself in Melbourne’s music scene, in between traversing the country to play, record and produce his own brand of seductive soul power. Spender climbs into a musical crawlspace inspired by the likes of Damon Albarn, Prince and Leonard Bernstein. This is a compelling and unique world and it’s starting to attract a lot of attention. In part, this is due to a close circle of musical collaborators that includes some of Australia’s most respected artists, such as Gotye, Clairy Browne, M-Phazes, Mama Kin, Ainslie Wills, and Dune it is these passionate compadres that have assisted in the recording of Spender’s debut ep Modern Pest, delivering a masterpiece of eclecticism and a scrapbook of thoughts that spans a lifetime, several cities and a fistful of genres.

Good music grasps your attention. But incredible, timeless music pulls you inside it. The songs of Twin Lakes are an absorbing volume of emotional depth. Each melody is a pool in which to drift and drown. Echoed, haunting guitar intros and dynamic drumming arrive at the ears as if passed through the surface of water, arousing the synapses, and inviting you into an immersive sonic landscape. Shimmering, atmospheric and taut melodies lead you to the edge before some small inflection – a single note or harmonic moment – forces you to dive in. The aching, nuanced voice of Eddie Garven is the current that draws you beneath. Born in the suburbs of Newcastle, during downtime for Garven’s other group, Seabellies, Twin Lakes existed in the ether as home recordings of coalesced ideas. But when an offer arrived for Twin Lakes to play a live performance, the singer and guitarist decided that it was time for his project to take the next step. Garven brought together a group of accomplished musicians. Twin Lakes sees Garven work with his brother, guitarist and backing vocalist Huw. On bass is Dan Pavez, who plays in a project with Huw called Ornaments. On keys, bass, vocal and engineering/production duties is Ben Russell. On drums is Sean Kelleher, a fellow Seabellies member who is completing a Masters in Music at the Australian Institute of Music. Twin Lakes is a formidable group of talented artists.
